I just had to post really quickly about my sourdough starter. I know, I know, everyone is all about sourdough starter right now. Food insecurity will do strange things to people who have the time and resources — or perhaps (like in my case) it is just BOREDOM!
Anyway, her name is Polly PureBread. Full disclosure, I just used plain flour and she came together fine (the recipe above is just fancy with it’s “whole wheat flour” — which I had in the house…why didn’t I use it? I could have been fancy! Dang it!).

And then she bloomed into the most amazing loaf of bread — next time, though, we cook her in cast iron!

I had so much fun with this, I can’t wait to bake more!
